Rainhill Rotary President, Tony Lewis thank you

“As President, I would like to thank all within our local community and further afield for supporting our two main fund raising events last year. Our Beer Festival is well established and was another great success with an increase on numbers through the door compared with 2017.

For future events we are looking to see how we can engage additional help and support. As you can imagine it takes a lot of manpower to build and set up the various bars and all of the services required to make the event a success, we are very keen to enlist help from volunteers so if anyone is interested please contact us through our website.

Moving onto our Christmas float collections, again we had a very successful 2018 and we are very grateful for the generosity shown by the people that live within the areas that we collect from, from my personal view it never fails to amaze me how many children with their parents come out to see Santa and our collectors when we are out on the many roads throughout the month of December.

It has been a long standing tradition that our collection ends on Christmas eve in the heart of our local community within Rainhill village where some of our members don fancy dress costumes which all adds to the sprit of the occasion, for 2019 we are looking to continue to support as many charitable organisations and individuals as we can.

For those that live in Rainhill, please lookout for the celebration of the 190th anniversary of the Rainhill Trials with a very full weekend of events and entertainment including a parade along Warrington road headed up by the replica of the Rocket steam locomotive on the 26th May 2019, this will be followed by the Rainhill Gala on the 27th May 2019.

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Rainhill and our members thank you very much for your continued support ”

Tony Lewis President.
